Margaret Hames Nature Center

Our Nature Center was named after

Margaret Hames. She was an outstanding conservationist and teacher who was instrumental in developing and preserving Turkey Creek Sanctuary. The Nature Center has been open since April 1992.

Nature Center Hours:

Open 7 days a week, 9am to 4pm.

Stop by our nature center and learn about the many plants and animals in the Sanctuary. We have educational displays, fossils, and skeletons. We also have live animals, trail maps, information about classes and events, and forms to order an engraved boardwalk plank.

Along with our educational displays, we have a touch-and-explore table for kids of all ages! It has many items to help your children learn about nature. Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet for the little ones before you go for your walk in our park.

We sell water and soda and offer merchandise featuring our name and logo. You can find items such as T-shirts, tote bags, hats, mugs, magnets, and jewelry. All proceeds go to support

Turkey Creek Sanctuary.
